Now these new ‘California/Washing Conservatives’ “don’t want to change anything” but then start Facebook groups and YouTube channels bitching about zoning regulations in Bonner County, the fact that water rights are separate from general land ownership “I should be able to do whatever the hell i want with my land who cares about the neighbors arrrgghh” or throw hissy fits when Costco required masks, then drive their F-250’s up and down Sherman with giant “Trump won” flags and coal coming out their exhaust. Most residents were more concerned with your character as a person. When I was growing up, I knew a pretty decent mix of both old blue-collar democrats and republicans but identify politics wasn’t something anyone dived themselves over, or cared that much about.
I’d probably say just how in the last two years most of the folks I’ve encountered who are moving here (and I in no way have a problem with people moving here for a better life) are as you already hit on, highly political.
